What Is miraDry®?

miraDry® is a 4th-generation microwave device designed to treat underarm hyperhidrosis by using microwaves to destroy the sweat and odor gland, leaving the skin intact.

It has little to no downtime, has been FDA approved since 2011, is non-surgical, and provides immediate and permanent results.

How Effective Is miraDry®?

miraDry® has been proven to have up to 82% efficacy. In practice, the effectiveness ranges from 50% to up to more than 90%, depending on the individual. Therefore, it is not technically a bone-dry sensation. Most patients will still be able to feel some sweat around the underarm area, and there may be a lingering odor. What Are the Side Effects?

The side effects are generally mild and transient. Most will resolve on their own after one week. Most patients do not require analgesia after treatment. However, if needed, just paracetamol would be enough most of the time.

What To Expect After The Treatment?

The effect is immediate. You ought to experience reduced sweat, stink, and hair growth after the therapy. Use the ice pack provided for a few days to relieve the swelling, bruises and redness. Avoid strenuous exercises like running for three days. Patients are advised to consume no alcohol on the day of treatment to reduce bruises. How commonly do people need more than one treatment?

Based on our data, less than 10% of the patients need a second treatment. However, if there is a need, the second treatment has to be done after six months from the last procedure. The same goes for the third treatment as well.
