Our skin constantly renews itself through metabolism since we are born, just like our skin.
Skincell renewal is the process by which our skin produces new skin cells as they move from the epidermis’ lowest layer to the top layer and then shed off. This is what keeps dead cells from building up on the skin surface. During the process, dead skin cells and keratin build up over the top layer resulting in the skin becoming dull, losing radiance and glow.
And as we age, our metabolism and renewal process slows down and the skin builds up between 15 to 20 layers of dead cells. This is why despite the number of serums you apply, they do not penetrate the skin as well to nourish it.
Jessner Peels are different from the usual chemical peels as it combines the best of resorcinol, lactic acid, and salicylic acid—an effective formula that penetrates deeply to expunge dead skin cells and boost skin renewal.
It removes skin cells from the top layer of your skin, the epidermis, and the upper portion of the middle layer, the dermis. However, it can also be used as a superficial peel, which has a faster healing time but needs to be performed more often to get the results of a deeper peel. The result is rejuvenated, healthier skin and a glowing, blemish-free complexion.

The Jessner Skin Peel treatment takes about 20 minutes.
Before the treatment, our therapist will gently cleanse the facial area to be treated.
Once your skin has dried from the cleansing, our doctor will apply the peel liquid over your face with a sanitised brush. This will be left on your skin a few minutes until the doctor sees the results.
Upon reaching the desired results, the doctor will apply a neutralising solution over your face to neutralise the acids in the peel.
Our therapist will now cleanse your face one more time and apply daily essential sunblock and moisturiser to protect your skin. Your treatment is now complete.
Q: What can I expect during the peel treatment?
During the peel, you will feel mild tingling or burning. This can be relieved by a fan blowing cool air on your treatment area. The skin will feel tight and dry for 24 hours. Avoid touching your face during this period. Your skin will develop a brown-red sunburn look for 2-3 days and then peel like a sunburn for 2-3 more days. Some mild itching and burning is normal at this time. This usually lasts 5-7 days.
Q: What can I expect after the peel treatment?
During the recovery process, your dark old skin (which is peeling off) acts as a bandage which protects the fresh new skin underneath. The longer you can keep this natural bandage in place, the better the result your peel will have. DO NOT pick or pull at the flaking or peeling skin; it can result in bleeding, rawness, scabbing, a risk of infection and delay of the healing process.
Q: What should I bear in mind during the recovery process?
Avoid using any active product such as a glycolic acid, lactic acid, or salicylate for 2 weeks after the peel. Sun should be totally avoided and you must use Sunblock protection daily.
